2018 went by in a snap, but we still have a couple of episodes to round things out. This week, we tackle the biggest film of the year, Avengers: Infinity War. Bringing in over $2 billion dollars worldwide, Avengers: Infinity War brought in a huge audience. It is the end of an era, however, as there is only two films left in MCU’s Phase 3. The entire world is wondering what will happen as we go down the road to Avengers: Endgame. Previously, when we’d looked at Avengers and Captain America: Winter Soldier, we weren’t quite sure where this would wind up going, but it’s exciting to see it play out.

Avengers: Infinity War, What Is It Good for?

It’s the culmination of a decade-long project. With Thanos collecting the Infinity Stones, it’s just a matter of time before he crosses paths with the heroes we’ve grown to love over the last 10 years—Iron Man, Captain America, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man and more. But, can cooler heads prevail when these heroes team up to take down the newest threat to the universe? In episode 297, we discuss how the film works for us. It’s an unprecedented experience which takes us a bit to parse through in our reviews. We then play a game—Marvel characters we want to see get a solo film. After all of that though, we snap our fingers and parse through the pieces of Avengers: Infinity War. We talk about the structure of the MCU, raising the stakes, capitalism, Greek tragedy and Shakespeare—plus, it wouldn’t be GTGC if we didn’t talk fascism! Now that we’ve collected all the stones, it’s time to see what happens…
