Grab your kilts and grab your scotch, we’re talking monarchs and more on episode 294! This month, to fill in some 2018 blindspots, we’re going to choose some current movies to help us round out our year-end lists. Dustin kicks things off with the Netflix Original Outlaw King.

All Hail the Outlaw King

David Mackenzie’s follow up to Hell or High Water sees the director going back to his homeland of Scotland. Outlaw King tells the story of Robert the Bruce (Chris Pine) and his rogue efforts to overthrow the English rule during the 14th century. A spiritual successor to BraveheartOutlaw King tries to play a little closer to the truth in its presentation, but is this account a larger-than-life epic? Or should it be lost to the sands of time? We discuss that and much, much more in this week’s show.

After offering our quick reviews of Outlaw King, we dive into our weekly game. This week, we discuss our favorite monarchs in film. And after that bit of silliness, we get down to business and bring our Outlaw King analysis to the table. Topics of historical epics, the films politics, violence and much more are discussed as we seek to investigate what the film has to offer.

Dalton’s hiked his kilt again, we’ll see you next week…
