Things are getting spookier as Shocktober 7 rolls along! This week, Dustin selects Paranormal Activity as one of his favorites for the gang to discuss. After 11 years, we wonder if the film holds up.

We Discuss Paranormal Activity

Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity got a lot of buzz in 2007. The small budget and great advertising campaign gave it a huge opening push. Therefore, the financial success led to a six-film franchise, as of this writing. Also, the story is simple. A couple experience disturbing episodes in their home. What is the cause? Is evil afoot?

Peli’s use of found footage and ad lib performances creates a realistic atmosphere to play in. On this week’s episode, we discuss found footage, postmodernism, masculinity and franchise mythology.

But, only after the game. And, this week’s game is a discussion of our favorite cinematic demons.

Something just moved on the monitor, we better check it out…
