Viewing The Truman Show

Peter Weir’s beloved The Truman Show is as prescient today as it was in 1998. The story of Truman Burbank, this film delves into the phenomenon of reality TV. Truman is the unwitting subject of a 30 year reality TV series. As he nears his 30th birthday, Truman’s life is interrupted by a series of mishaps that lead him to believe his life isn’t what he always believed.

On this week’s show, we’re very excited to talk about The Truman Show. We’re talking artifice, exploitation and commodification of people and relationships, meta narratives, existential narratives, product placement, and much, much more.
