The sun is setting on our western marathon. After two full months of gun fights, horses and escorts, we’re hanging up the saddle on this genre. To wrap things up, we come full circle with the 2017 limited/2018 wide release Hostiles from director Scott Cooper. And trust us, the boys did not react well to this one. If you’re looking for a Hostiles movie review or analysis, we got you covered.

It Gets Hostiles

The period drama from Scott Cooper is a dark, maddening film. Christian Bale’s Captain Blocker must escort a Cheyenne chief, Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi), and his family north to their tribal lands. The problem? Blocker has a turbulent history with the chief, and must overcome his hatred to make the trip work.

Beautifully shot, well acted and designed, Hostiles has the pieces. But can it put them together? You’ll have to listen to hear our thoughts.

In this episode, we cap this marathon off by rating the movies we watched for it.

Grab your saddle and your gun, it’s time for our Hostiles movie review and analysis.
