Reba Delivers a Pure Christian/Hymns Album in a Genre Fraught with Right-Wing Nonsense

I do not honestly think I have to introduce Reba McEntire. You know, Oklahoma-born singer, songwriter, record producer, television and film actor Reba McEntire. My introduction to Reba was in the Little Rascals film released in the 1990’s, and my bad child brain thought she was a racecar driver for years. Please just understand that Reba is a national treasure and that I was not a bright 

Look. Is Country music also Christian music? It can certainly be argued. Country record production companies understand the market they’re cornering has a large overlap with Right-Wing, Evangelical Christians. What I’m getting at is that it is a common occurrence for high-status Country artists to throw Christianity a bone every once in a while. On Sing it Now, Reba offers us refurbished hymns, as well as contemporary originals like God and My Girlfiriends. In my mind, Reba succeeds where other artists like Toby Keith have failed by making a Christian album that refuses to needlessly pander to Republicans.
