Hello from the Praisedown! Some introductions are in order, since we’ve been shirking our responsibility to update episodes on the GoodTrash website. We know, we’re bad! But we’re trying to be better!

What is the Praisedown?

Praisedown Logo

The Praisedown is a Christian music review show hosted by Heath and Alex, two former Christians. At this point, you’re probably wondering to yourself, “hey, wait a minute…is this another show where they go back and forth making fun of Christian music?” Quite the contrary! The Praisedown is here to celebrate the esoteric world of Christian music and faith-based culture at large. Now, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to be thorough critics.

Every week, Heath, Alex, and their producer Jillian sit down with a guest to discuss their relationship to faith as they were growing up, their relationship to it now, and to do a little goofin’ off. Join us!

Meet the Hosts of the Praisedown!

Heath Huffman (@premiumthinker) is a stand-up comic from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Heath’s tenure as a Christian lasted until he was 20, and his tenure as an earnest Christian music appreciator lasted about that long as well, though it has since picked back up since hosting the Praisedown. Heath does martial arts and gets mad on Twitter when he is not hosting the show.

Alex Sanchez (@serioussanchez) is a comedian from Oklahoma City, OK. Alex spent most of his formative years helping in children’s ministry. He stopped being a Christian around 16, but church still makes him cry. In addition to co-hosting the Praisedown, Alex hosts the Public Access open mic and spends every free second looking at posts on web sites.

Jill Falter is the eyes and ears to the Praisedown’s two mouths. She is the producer and audio engineer for the podcast. Jill has a degree in Professional Media from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is also the communications director for Covenant Presbyterian church in Oklahoma City, as well as a section leader in their choir. Despite this, her religious beliefs remain pretty neutral.
